Hi there & welcome to BdaKiNE.com!
When we are going to be on a long road trip, we will mail a box of clothes and toiletries to our hotel ahead of time so we don’t have to deal with checking luggage. After our event with the Celtics, we flew from Boston (very cold & windy weather), to Palm Springs (93 degrees) and from there we flew to Eugene, Oregon (cool & rainy). So, we sent cold weather clothes to Boston as well as all of Bill’s favorite GREEN Celtics shirts. One of the many things I love about my husband is that he proudly wears his colors whether it’s Celtics‘ Green or Grateful Dead tie dye.
When our box did not show up at our hotel, we were pretty bummed. Luckily, we always pack toiletries and some clothes in our carry on bags. And the Celtics of course gave Bill a bunch of new green t-shirts to wear. By the time we got to Eugene, our box was still MIA so I decided that I was totally justified in going shopping for clothes! Luckily, our hotel, Inn at the 5th, is part of the 5th Street Public Market. All I had to do was walk next door to find several super cute, boutique shops where I was able to get some new outfits to wear throughout the rest of the trip.
If you ever find yourself in Eugene, I highly recommend the Inn at the 5th. When you enter the small lobby (we love hotels that don’t have crazy lobby scenes), you are greeted with complimentary wine and water to enjoy in the seating area or take up with you to your room. The wifi is also free – I always think it’s weird when you pay a ton of money for a hotel room and there’s an extra charge for wifi. And what I think is coolest about Inn at the 5th…….. they are a pet friendly hotel!
Unfortunately, I did not have time to check out the Gervais Aveda Day Spa next door but we did take advantage of being able to walk to the restaurant two doors down called Marche. Our dinner was excellent; it’s French-inspired and locally sourced, you gotta love this ‘farm to table’ trend. They also provide the food for the hotel which is perfect for a room service addict like me.
After making numerous phone calls every day for three weeks, we were no closer to finding our box. Just when we had given up hope on ever seeing it again, our box was delivered to our home in San Diego!
Thank you for taking the time to visit BdaKiNE.com & have a grateful day!
