Hi there & welcome to BdaKiNE.com!
One of the great things about living in San Diego is that when you venture out of your comfort zone, it’s like being a tourist in your own town.
I met some of my besties for brunch at the La Valencia in La Jolla and I was in serious staycation mode. I could not stop looking around and admiring the hotel as well as the view. The La Valencia, also known as the “Pink Lady“, celebrated its 90th anniversary this year. The pink (almost Pepto Bismal in color) hotel is about as charming as you can get – the Mediterranean style architecture combined with the oceanfront location above the La Jolla Cove makes it a truly magical place.
I love these boutique style hotels that are small enough to feel cozy but big enough that it’s not crowded. All of us girls were absolutely giddy about how lucky we are to have this amazing place within our reach.
And as if our day couldn’t get any better, Jose Molina Serrano was the musical entertainment during brunch. Jose grew up next door to Carlos Santana and if you didn’t know better, you’d think they were biological brothers. In addition to Jose’s own songs, he breaks out some Santana classics. No matter what type of music that Jose sings, the one constant is his grace, beauty, and spirit. It’s obvious that Jose loves what he does and wants to share this powerful energy through his music.
You know how you have moments in your life when you feel totally at peace and blissed out?! Thanks to the La Valencia, my besties & Jose Molina Serrano – this afternoon was one of those days – a true feast for the eyes, ears, heart and soul.
Thank you for visiting BdaKiNE.com & have a grateful day!
