Hi there & welcome to BdaKiNE.com 😁
What exactly is the 508? According to www.the508.com, “it is the world’s premier 48-hour ultra cycling race. This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none.”
So, basically, you have 48 hours to ride your bike 508 miles; not my cup of tea to say the least.
Our friend Lance got it in his head that he wanted to do this ultra endurance event. Well, this is a major undertaking for an able bodied athlete let alone a C5-6 level quadriplegic like Lance. With a recumbent bike custom built for him and help from his friends, Lance successfully completed the 508 and became the first challenged athlete of his kind to do so.
Lance is seriously one of the most amazing persons I know; he never complains about his disability – in fact it’s quite the opposite – he is grateful for all that he’s accomplished in his life because of his quadriplegia.
I love his “can do” attitude, positive energy and tenacity; plus he’s a super cool dude who is really fun to be around. I am constantly INSPIRED by Lance; he is the perfect example of turning a negative into a positive and I am incredibly blessed to know him. Lance is the “ultra-endurance athlete of the millennium” and he BdaKiNE!!
Thank you for visiting BdaKiNE and have a grateful day 🌞 Hugs, Lori 😘
